A Journey from Curiosity to Creativity
Nick's passion for 3D printing was ignited when he bought his first printer - one of those delicate acrylic models that was more of a fixer-upper than a smooth operator. This challenging initiation pushed him to not only build and design his own 3D printers but also to offer 3D printing as a service for the tech-deprived.
When the original designer of the J-Head™ hotends decided to step back, Nick saw an opportunity. A long-time fan of the brand, he stepped in to keep the J-Head™ legacy alive. The company now with newfound determination, Nick taught himself the skills needed to be a machinist and has been running Hotends.com since 2018.

Overcoming Challenges to Master-The-CNC
Nick's journey hasn't been without its fair share of challenges. Converting manual machines to CNC was a steep learning curve. But, each hurdle just paved the way for to him master his craft. Nick wants to mention that he highly recommends anyone interested in CNC to just get a manual machine and convert it!

And if you're curious how Nick celebrated his 39th trip around the sun, it was filled with adventure! He toured the Leinenkugel's Brewery in Chippewa Falls, WI, where he won the grand prize of his tour group by answering the grand prize question at the end of the tour. Not to be outdone, Mother Nature welcomed him into her embrace as he went camping at one of Wisconsin's incredible state parks. And of course, no birthday is complete without some delectable food - Nick indulged in a dinner at a fantastic wood-fired oven pizza joint.
